In celebration of 2026 World Bicycle Day, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) partnered with Bright Smile Empowerment Initiative in Lagos to promote safer roads, healthier communities, and sustainable mobility through cycling.

The event brought together cyclists, road safety staff at Lekki Unit, and community members who shared a common vision of creating roads that are safe for everyone. Through awareness activities and community engagement, participants highlighted the important role cycling can play in improving public health, reducing accidents, traffic congestion, and advancing environmental sustainability.

Speaking at the event representatives of both organizations emphasized the need for stronger collaboration among government agencies, civil society organizations, and citizens to build a culture of road safety across Nigeria and Africa. They noted that protecting vulnerable road users, including cyclists and pedestrians, remains a critical step toward achieving safer and more inclusive transportation systems.
